Sally Kindberg and paper hats at the Art Workers’ Guild Summer Fete

A variety of very chic newspaper hats made by hatmaker extraordinare Jane Smith were seen at this delightful gathering in Bloomsbury’s Queen Square, organised by the Art Workers Guild.

Other events amongst many included fortune-telling, passport making and Ray’s Radio Rants, a kiosque for recording your grievances.  I added some of mine btw but luckily the voices are all disguised.

Lovely to bump into Caroline Gowdy,  Charlotte Cory and Sue Grayson Ford again.  I wore my square carpenter’s hat – as worn by the Carpenter in Tenniel’s drawing in Alice in Wonderland – on my journey home.  It was excellent for preventing sunstroke.
