Draw It! London due out in May 2014

all this and ...gnashcity mapStill going through the first set of proofs for Draw It! London … My original idea was for a book about one hundred wonders in London.  My publishers (Bloomsbury) suggested it should be part of my Draw It! series, in a new format.  It’s going to be a paperback with lots of amazing stuff about London that’ll encourage children (and adults) to explore, and get drawing,  as well as recording some of the smells and sounds of London.  Maps and lots of stickers too!

It includes mini-interviews with people who have special jobs in London, so was an excuse to chat with a female firefighter and the Ravenmaster at the Tower of London amongst others.   I went on patrol with the river police (luckily no bodies to fish out of the river that morning), talked to a worker on the Cheesegrater building, and met Ricky the Rockhopper at London Zoo – the only penguin to have his own Facebook page?  It’s been a marvellous book to work on.  A bit ambitious, but great fun.

Due out in May this year – hooray!
