Dinosaurs in Primrose Hill.

Society of Authors meeting a couple of evenings ago – and great to see Lynne Reid Banks there being feisty.  Author of L-Shaped Room and about 40 other books, she was also one of the first TV news reporters in the UK.

Quick walk up Primrose Hill early this morning as sun is shining and trees looking extra glossy. Briefly into cafe en route to drawing desk and chatted to Kevin Coates, artist/goldsmith at the Wallace Collection.

How I enjoy these chance cafe meetings. Also talked to delightful S, the crocodile hunter’s widow, and her friend B, who told me he was involved in the Guardian’s 1970s April 1st feature about the country of San Serriffe.  Dentist to the celebs there as well wearing a summer frock.  Paparazzo outside in Regents Park Road looking for the real thing. S said she saw a pap lurking in the bushes the other day.

Back to drawing Dinosaurs – all very fed up at the moment as they’ve just been made extinct. Well, you be would be wouldn’t you?
